Best Way to Cut CDX Plywood Boards

How to Cut CDX Plywood

The best way that you should cut CDX plywood sheets is by using a handheld saw. You should place the plywood sheet face down. Then, use the table saw to cut through the plywood board evenly.

Once this has been finished, set the depth on your circular saw. By doing that, there will be less chance of the plywood splintering when you are going through the material. Use a proper support to keep the plywood steady, when you are using a handheld cutting tool. And finally, lay some masking tape along the cut line if you have to cut the plywood from the front of the sheet.

This will protect the veneer and keep it from splintering. If you are using a jigsaw or a reciprocating saw, then apply some speed at a ginger rate of around 3/4 speed. Use the cut line as a guide for your cut with a utility knife as an alternative when laying masking tape.

Remember, place enough pressure with the knife to break through the surface veneer so it will already be evenly cut when you use the saw to cut through the rest of the sheet.
