CDX Plywood Vs OSB (Oriented Strand Board)

Most people prefer CDX Plywood for their home improvement projects, over OSB which is Oriented Strand Board

Here are some of the attributes of both types of Plywood Product

OSB is made of thin narrow strands of hardwoods and softwoods that are longer than they are wide. The strands are dried, screened, blended with adhesive and formed into a multilayered mat. In the surface layer, the long axes of the strands are oriented so that they are, in general, parallel with the long direction of the panel. The strands in the inner layers may not be oriented in any particular direction or may be generally oriented perpendicular to the long direction of the panel.

CDX Plywood : Description

CDX is a low or average grade exterior plywood material: The letters C and D represent the grade quality of the wood on both the front and back sides, and the X represents that it is an exterior grade wood suitable for outdoor purposes and resistant to water damage as the glues invloved in making the plywood will not be adversly impacted my exposure to water.
